While we can

Travel Day – Paris to London

Our train to London didn’t leave until 12:45pm so as the day dawned bright and sunny we thought that we would try to go to the Arc D’Triumph to see if we could climb to the top and take a few scenic shots of Paris.

Goodbye Paris

Goodbye Paris

We decided that the best way to get there with the least amount of hassles was by bike so we grabbed a couple from just round the corner and headed off. When we got there and found out how long it would take to get to the top we decided it would be cutting things a bit fine so abandoned that idea and decided to slowly head back and take a few snaps along the way. It was such a shame to be leaving Paris on such a fine day, but all good things must come to an end.

Checked out of our hotel and headed to the train station for the last section of our European trip, London.  We had upgraded our ticket to a Standard Premium ticket the night before, this gave us more room and a free meal and drinks on the Journey which would take about 2 and three quarter hours.

Food on board the Eurostar

The Eurostar also offers free Wifi which was a bonus, it allowed me to blog during the trip. Very comfortable ride, there were only 4 of us on the whole carriage so we were well looked after, you had a choice of two different meals.

When we arrived in London it was quite a job negotiating the underground to find our final destination of Woking where my auntie lives. Everyone although helpful told us something different. Eventually we managed to find our way to Woking and my auntie “B” was waiting patiently to pick us up and take us to her home in Chobham Surrey. Of course it was raining when we arrived, we had arrived to an English summers day after all.

The little town that auntie “B” lives in is really beautiful and she lives in a cottage in a semi rural area of the town.

We will be here until the weekend and then we are heading to Cornwall for four days staying with my cousin Helen and her family along with auntie B.
