We are now at Frankfurt airport ready for the final leg to Venice. I know that in the picture I look shot, but actually I’m feeling pretty good. Di is feeling a little light headed at the moment but we are holding up OK.
While we can
We are now at Frankfurt airport ready for the final leg to Venice. I know that in the picture I look shot, but actually I’m feeling pretty good. Di is feeling a little light headed at the moment but we are holding up OK.
Just completed the first leg from Brisbane to Bangkok. We managed to snaffle the front seats next to the bulkhead so there was plenty of leg room, also a spare seat between us. The down side was we could see into the business class section just in front of us and I must say it looked inviting with it’s full lay down beds and giant tv screens.
Well all the months of careful planning have been completed, the anticipation has built to fever pitch. It’s time to embark on the adventure. We are heading to Brisbane Airport by train to begin the first leg of our journey Brisbane to Bangkok. We are flying Thai Airlines, can’t say I have ever travelled with them before but I’m sure they will look after us well.
Well today we waved goodbye to two more fellow travelers. Bon voyage Maureen and Jen, we will see you next week in Venice. As they jet off to Rome we have to endure another week of waiting….. waiting….. waiting.
We tried to look sad because we are the last ones left but we are just too excited about the trip.
Seven days to go.
Had a great evening with the remaining Fab Four (Di is behind the camera). Had a Viber call from Gav and Becky tonight in London, just whet (pardon the pun, it has been raining in sunny old England) the appetite for our travels soon to come. Thank you Jen for a beautiful meal.
Had a wonderful afternoon with our fellow travellers, family and friends courtesy of Colin and Danielle. As usual it was a sumptuous feast fit for a king. They kept the mood distinctly Italian serving, olives, cheeses, caprese salad and wine of course. We swapped travel tales both past and future and I must say that the anticipation is certainly building for the big European trip this year.
Knowing we will be keen to make the most of the Dance nights aboard the ship, we have decided to brush up on our moves and get some lessons.
We have been looking on the Queen Victoria itinerary and we notice our 2 nights at sea are Themed Ball nights. The first one, after Venice, is of course a Masquerade ball. So Shopping in Venice for a mask, (or before if we are really organised) will be required.
And so begins our 2016 Europe adventure! Like most big trips the anticipation is nearly as exciting as the journey. Looking at places to go and things to do, booking accommodation and walking the streets on Google earth!
The countdown is on and the time will fly. We hope you enjoy sharing the experience with us.
